Hello,

You are suffering from itchy rash from biceps to knuckles. You have been prescribed Prednisolone, it reduces when you take it but comes back when you stop taking it. You are suggested to take care of your hygiene. Stop using harsh soaps and lotions. Do not use perfumed or scented soaps or body lotion. Sensitive skin may react and cause rashes. Avoid wearing ornaments on your fingers, bracelets or bangles, they may trigger rashes due to allergy.

Do not share your toiletries. Wash your clothes frequently in hot water. Stay away from animal dander, dust, smoke, pollution, paint, fumes, etc. You can take non sedating antihistamine for relieve. You can apply hydrocortisone cream / ointment on the affected area to reduce itching. Since prednisone is helping to reduce the rashes you can take it but taper the dose gradually to prevent rashes from coming back. Stay away from addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
