Having Bleeding 20 Days After Menstrual Cycle. Had Taken Ipill 6 Months Back. Related?

Just 20 days after my last menstrual cycle, I am getting menstrual bleeding and cramps. The bleeding is not like the regular menstruation, its dark, thick, very less in quantity and occurs in spurts. I had taken an iPill 6 months ago after having unprotected sex due to which my cycle was delayed by 20 days and had faced hormonal imbalance. Is this bleeding related to that or is it normal?

Hi Dear,
The i pill which you too 6 months ago has nothing to do with your present bleeding.
If you did not had any unprotected sex and no chances of pregnancy, than the present bleeding may be a normal variation of period which do occur sometime. However, incase of repeated episodes, do consult a gynae and get yourself examined and investigated

Psychiatrist Dr. Anjana Rao Kavoor's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

An iPill taken 6 months ago will not cause any hormonal balance due to itself right now. However, there may be hormonal balance due to other reasons which may lead to earlier and less quantity bleed. This can also occur due to stress.

Stress is the most common cause of irregular periods. Cortisol, the stress hormone, has a direct impact on how much estrogen and progesterone, two sex hormones, gets produced by the body. If you have too much cortisol in your bloodstream, the time and flow of your cycle could change

When the complex hormonal processes of the menstrual cycle are interrupted, resulting in estrogen and progesterone levels that are out of balance, excessive vaginal bleeding may occur. This bleeding is related to irregularities of your menstrual cycle without any disease.

Hope this helps
