Have Tickling Sensation And Lump Formation In Throat, Cough. On Cough Drops. What Is It?

Hi I have had this tickling feeling on the same spot in my throat for a couple days now, sometimes I think breathing sets off the tickling but coughing doesn't help nor do cough drops. I decided to try and look down my throat because I can feel a lump with the back of my tongue where it's tickling and there is a lump but it's the same color as the rest of my throat. Please help, I'm sick of waking up in the middle of the night from it. Thanks,
-Alison

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, Alison, it appears to be the pharyngitis, may be due to bacterial infection at certain spot like on the posterior wall, uvula, on one side of the tonsils, or pharynx.
I advise you to consult an E.N.T. surgeon, for diagnosis and treatment.
I to my patient with such symptoms prescribe erythrocin 500mg, antiinflamatories, decongestants, and syrup containing antihistamines.
Gargle with luke warm water with salt . Thank you.
