Have Stiff Neck And Head Weight. Can It Be A Sunstroke Or Some Thing Else?
I am 69 at end of May. Just been with my wife to Majorca for 10 days. Sunshine aplenty. last 3 days I have been developing a stiff neck, and at night in bed it was so bad I couldn't support my head weight in getting out of bed to go to the toilet. I had to cradle my head in my hands. We were both thinking this was sunstroke, but there don't seem to be any such answers on the web. Came back to Blighty today and it is subsiding. Any advice?
Welcome to HCM. Don't worry,It is not sunstroke. It could be due to muscle pull called neck muscle sprain. It might occur due to improper sleeping posture or during traveling. Apply nsaid gel locally and start oral nsaid with muscle relaxant. Multi vitamin and calcium supplement is required at this age. If it is recurrent than go for X-ray cervical region. Ask your doctor for medical management.
