Have Severe Itching In Vaginal Area, Already Treated It With A OTC Yeast Infection Kit, No Complete Relief. What To Do?
I have severe itching in my vaginal area, no discharge. I have already treated it with a OTC yeast infection kit and I think it is actually worse now. The itching is on the labia and clitoris area. I have not changed soap or anything like that I have been with my husband for almost 20 years and we are monogamous, neither of us has ever had an STD . I did recently have a flare up of my hemorrhoids and treated it with anusol cream and suppositories which worked. The itching is not near the anal area. Please have some suggestions I am so tired of being itchy all of the time.
If you used a regular yeast infection kit, it only usually treats against simple fungi and not complicated fungi. It is possible that the fungal infection that you have is resistant. This will cause you to continue having itching even if you complete the full course of the treatment. So you need to meet a dermatologist who will assess the rash, run a culture and sensitivity and then decide on the treatment.
