Have Pain Inside Eyeball. No Medication Till Now. What Can Be The Reason For This?

I have the searing pain inside my left eyeball every few days....it feels like i have metal shards inside my eye or grains of glass cutting my eyeball. It is extremely painful. After a few painful hours of feeling like my eyeball is being cut open, it goes away only to come back again. I don't know whether it's caused by an irritant, an inflammation, etc. What is wrong with me?

Hello

Most likely you are suffering from a refractive error. You should get your vision checked and refraction done and if that is normal you should go for following investigations:
1. Orthoptic checkup
2. Fundus examination
3. Intra-occular pressure measurement

By doing this, we will exclude the common causes of pain in the eye and treat the situation accordingly.

Regards
