Have Microhematuria, Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Have Blood In Urine. What Is Going On?

Hi, I am not sure if I am in the right forum. Since 2009 I have had microhematuria since 2009. My Gyno doc never made a big deal of this and my yearly pap smears always came back normal. I recently was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder which has caused tachycardia. My primary doc ran my blood for liver, thyroid, kidneys, etc, and everything came back normal. I went to see the nurse practitioner this year for my pap and she could not believe nobody had referred me to a urologist. I went today and he said there is a moderate amount of blood in urine and I am getting a ct with IV contrast for abdomen and pelvis. Any suggestions on what could be going on? I had a panic attack over this earlier I have been so worried. The doc said it could be cancer, kidney stone, etc. I am a 25 yr old female, no previous health problems, non smoker, and average weight. Please help! I m scared. Thank you!

Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM

There may be various causes of hematuria. It may be due to calculus in kidney or urinary bladder,UTI,Tumour,Trauma,STD etc.
Primary investigations has been done. So,at this stage you need Ultrasound of Abdomen,CT Scan of abdomen and further investigation can be done if needed.
Ultrasound of abdomen can exclude many conditions.
You should consult urologist for your problem.

Take Care
