Have Diabetes. Have Cough, Vomiting, Clear Mucus Discharge, Difficulty Breathing

i am actually asking for my friend. he is a diabetic. he has neen having a caugh for over a month and is now to a point were it makes him throw up at times. he is constantly spitting clear to cloudy mucus . another issue is that thew top of his stomack right under the breast bone seems to get hard which then makes him breath heavier we have tried gas x and that sometimes helps it but not all the time. he cannot afford to miss too much work with this please help

Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
If I were your treating doctor for this severe cough from last more than 1 month I would come up with these possibilities , as she is a diabetic patient , these includes as,
1 Tuberculosis , as you mentioned that cough is from last mote than 1 month, mucus ( cloudy ) , difficulty in breathing, top of chest hard , all are suggestive of Tuberculosis. Diagnosis can be confirmed by X RAY chest , blood for C B C, E S R, sputum for A F B , M R I . Consult a physician and get his opinion regarding this .
2 Asthmatic allergic bornchitis , diagnosis can be confirmed by physical examination by a physician .
3 Bronchiectasis , as copious sputum ( mucus) present from the last month and patient is diabetic , so may be Bronchiectasis. Diagnosis can be confirmed by X Ray chest .
So consult a physician and get his treatment .
