ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi, burning sensation in the esophagus is usually due to reflux of acid from stomach into the food pipe. Commonly used analgesics (NSAIDs) actually increase the problem and will usually increase the pain. Use of proton pump inhibitors help as also the dietary modifications like avoiding oily, spicy and junk food. Avoiding excessive tea, coffee and alcohol also helps. Regarding bowel movements, use of high fibre diet and probiotics helps. Fibre supplements along with dietary modifications help. Regards
