A red colored, itchy and painful swelling on the ear can oocur due to various causes. It can be due to an inflammatory process (boil, frunculosis), hematoma, vascular lesion, etc. You need to consult an ENT specialist. Clinical examination and relevant investigations- a fine needle aspiration and/ or excision biopsy of the lesion may be required. This investigation will determine the origin and the type of lesion. These investigations will help in planning further management.
