Have A Multinodular Goiter, Enlarged Thyroid, Multiple Heterogeneous Hypoechoic Nodule And Cystic Structure. What Does It Mean?

I have a multi nodular goiter, bilatera the ultra sound state that the Right thyroid - enlarge with heterogeneous parenchymal echotecture measuring 4 x 2.1x2.5 cm, there are multiple heterogeneous hypoechoic nodule the largest of which 1.4x.0.7 cm. the left thyroid gland is normal i size with heterogeneous parenchymal echotecture measuring measuring 3.7 x 1.0m x 1.4cm. There are 2 cystic and 1 hypoechoic nodules 0.5x0.2cm, 0.3 x0.2cm and 0.4x0.4cm. Minute calcifcation within the the cystic structure are seen

Hello,welcome to HCM,
1.A multinodular goitre is one of the many types of appearances of the thyroid gland usually associated with disturbances in function of the gland i.e hormones T3 andT4. and gland enlargement.
2.you have undergone a thyroid ultrasound scan.Hypoechoic(low frequency) is the technical terminology for cysts(fluid filled areas) hallmark of multinodular goitre.
3.this condition is treatable with thyroid hormone pills taken only after expert endocrinologist/medical physicians opinion.
