Have A Feeling Of Not Being Hungry. Took Levothyroxine Medication. Can This A Side Effect?

I started on levothyroxine a few weeks ago. Now I seem to feel better but I get REALLY hungry several times a day...even when I have eaten regularly. I usually am never hungry. Is this a side effect? I also started on vitamin D as I was very low there too. (I have had gastric bypass so my vitamins apparently are insufficient in some cases)

Hi,

Yes, it could be a side effect of Levothyroxin. Since thyroid hormone induces metabolism it could indirectly increase the food intake.

Regards,
