Have MS, Pernicious Anemia, Hypothyroidism, IBS. Done Knee Replacement Surgery. Suggestions?

Hi I have a few auto immune diseases including M.S. , pernicious anemia, anemia, IBS , Hypothyroidism type 11 diabetes. My left knee has had knee replacement surgery 9 months ago and is much better but now my right knee needs knee replacemrnt. My Dr. has prescribed cymbalta for my M.S. muscle pain which helps a bit but isn't helping with my knee pains. Celebrex seems to be an option but I worry that this drug might interact with my Auto - immune problems. I take way too much Tylenol but it seems to be the only thing that gives me any relief. Got any suggestions?

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about your multiple auto immune diseases and the knee problems. Celebrex has no effect on your auto immune conditions. Feel free to use it. Using it is often a better option because it doesn't cause the gastritis side effects associated with many other NSAIDs. Cymbalta for real has no effct on knee pain and you need a separate drug to address this problem. Talking it out with your doctor is the best way forward.

I wish you all the best. Despite your neurous health challenges, stay stronger than these. Feeel free to ask us many more questions if need be.
