Has Throat Infection Spread To Lungs If I Have Coughing, Tight Breathing And Frequent Thirst?

So My doctor claims I have a throat infection, she puts me on amoxicillin. I take it daily for a week, my voice only gets worse. She claims I would get better and get my voice back within a few days. But nothing. I feel thirsty all the time. No matter how much tea I drink it doesn't soothe my throat. I've been coughing really bad, all night actually. Now when I breathe in it seems tight, my friend thought it was asthma. Something is up with my breathing. It's keeping me up at night. Did my throat infection spread to my lungs? Should I see a different doctor? What is wrong with me?

Hi,

It seems that antibiotic is not responding to infection and is extending to lower respiratory tract. If i were your treating doctor i would have prescribed you tab Azithromycin 500mg daily for 6 days with tab Monticope-A daily at bed time or if needed twice daily. Mucolytic cough syrups will be of some help.

Its better to switch your antibiotic after consulting your treating doctor.

Regards
