Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear sir /madam
Is your mother walking, or is she able to bear weight on involved limb
Is she able to sit, or lift leg from supine position

If she is able to lift her leg in supine position
It could be muscle contusion,.

Ice fomentation mild analgesics and hip abductor strengthening exercises would suffice for muscle contusion and it takes time to settle usually 3 to 4 weeks
