Radiologist 's  Response
Hello
Thanks for writing to HCM
Her reports suggests that
Liver is diffusely coarse in echo texture.Normally liver is homogeneous in echo texture.Coarse echo texture suggests chronic liver disease.
Spleen is moderately enlarged in size.
Uterus is also enlarged in size.
Cysts present in both ovaries with bright wall.
On Doppler study,
There is increased pressure in portal vein. This condition is called as portal hypertension.
Due to increased pressure in portal vein ,alternate pathway gets open and this is seen in spleen with dilated splenic vein and collaterals.
These findings are due to cirrhosis of liver.
Your aunt needs complete hemogram,LFT,coagulation profile.
She should consult physician and condition can be managed with medicines.
Liver transplant is the last option.
Take Care
