Had Tubes In Ear. Having Dark Brown Discharge From Ear. Put Peroxide. Suggest
My son had tubes in his ear they have fallen out but are still stuck in his ears and have been for months he has a really dark discharge from one ear i put peroxide in it to try to clean it out but this flat thin blackish brown thing came to the opening i had to use tweezers to get it out and he said it hurt and was talking really loud and kept saying huh.. He's 6
Hi and thanks for the query The blackish brown discharge could be ear wax. The quantity, colour and thickness of ear wax is highly variable. If he is talking in a loud voice then probably he has some hearing loss. Hearing loss may be due to impacted wax or it could be due to an ear drum injury due to peroxide or tweezers. Please dont ever put things like peroxide inside the ear canal. Never try to pull things out of the ears with tweezers or buds. It can lead to irreversible ear damage. Please see an ENT specialist as soon as possible. Regards, Dr Rajkishori
