Had Protected Sex. Red Bump On Thigh, No Pain Or Itching. Herpes?

Hello! I'm freaking out. I have a new partner we had protected sex on June 1 and June 15. Today the 16 I woke up with a small red bump on my thigh. No pain, hich nor burning sensation. Is look more like a mosquito bite. It this how herpes start? Could it be my first outbreak?? Right now I can't tell if it is a group or just one. I do shave down there and get ingrow hair but im not sure if this could be in grow hair. Please any help would be much appreciated

Hello and welcome to HCM.

Thank you for your query.

From your appearance, the first most important and safe factor is that you have had protected sex. Which is one of the most important barriers that protect from sexually transmitted infections like Herpes.

The next aspect is the location of the bump, which is your inner thigh. This location is not related to herpes, and coupled with the fact that you shave the region and have a history of ingrown hairs, this is most probably just either another ingrown hair or folliculitis (inflammation of the hair follicle), and will gradually subside. This could also have appeared due to the friction that occurred during the act of sexual intercourse.

Application of warm compresses to the region will help improve circulation and in turn quick recovery from the bump. Do not worry, I am sure you are fine.

I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications at: http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-shoaib-khan/64581 . I would gladly help you.

Best wishes.
