Had My Wisdom Teeth Out. Taking Co-codamol And Co-amoxiclav. Felt Very Dizzy And Faint. Is It The Tablets? Concerned?
I have just had my wisdom teeth out and I am taking co-codamol and co-amoxiclav. I had the procedure on Tuesday and have not been able to eat solid foods. Last night I managed a little more food but afterwards felt very dizzy and faint. I had to go to bed. The same has just happened after lunch. Is it the tablets? what should I do
Hello Welcome to HMC Your dizziness and fainting could be a side effects of your meds. Co codamol is a pain killer which has codeine and paracetamol. Codeine is a opiod drug like morphine but with less potency. It can cause sedation, which could be cause of your symptoms. You can avoid this by taking the drug at bedtime. Do not drive while you take this medication. If symptoms are severe consult your treating doctor, he/she may change to non opiod pain killers. Other drug co amoxyclav is an antibiotic it doesnot have sedation as a side effect. Hope u find this helpful.
