Had Intercourse, Had Period, Brown Discharge, Lower Back Ache, Tiredness. Taken Microgynon Pill. What Seems Wrong?
Hi, I had intercourse with my partner the Friday just gone, I take my microgynon pill every day with out fail due to an alarm set. However I took my pill as always but we didn't use a condom this time. I finished my period just over 2 weeks ago so I am not due yet. The morning after we had intercourse I woke up feeling faint and in need of a cold drink so ran to the bathroom to which I led on the floor to stop myself from falling so far. My main concern is that the past 2 days since we had intercourse I have noticed brown blood and sometimes reddy/pink blood in my undies or when I wipe after I have peed. I have lower back ache and generally feel weak and tired. Is it something to worry about? Should I contact my doctor?
Hi, Mid-cycle spotting is a possibility, but, you should get a check up with your gynecologist to rule out other causes. Chances of conception are less owing to the regularity with which you take your pill. Please get any urinary infection excluded. You can wait for your next cycle and go for a pregnancy test if you miss it. Only if you wish to exclude pregnancy earlier, you should go for the blood test about one week prior to your expected cycle and not earlier. Hope your query has been answered. Take care.
