Had Hit Side Of Foot. Bruised And Lump Below Ankle. What To Do?

While on vacation, My husband slipped and hit the side of his foot. It was very sore and about 2 days later I saw a bruise below the ankle that went lateral to with 1" of the heal. It went away in days and although it is no longer painful, there appears to be a knot or lump just above the ankle on that foot. Should we be concerned.

Hi,
After reading your post, it seems that your husband has suffered from soft tissue injury near the ankle.

You should still get him clinically examined and investigated.
Get an X-ray of his ankle done(AP, Lateral and Oblique view).

He should give complete rest to his foot.

Pain killer like Ibuprofen one tablet twice a day after meals along with serratiopeptidase will help in healing. Also take an antacid like Omeprazole 20 mg once a day before meals.

Hot fomentation can be beneficial. Local application of pain relieving gel will also help in reducing the pain.

I would suggest that he should be examined by an Orthopaedic surgeon.
I hope this is helpful to you.
Thanks.
