Had Brown Discharge. Ultrasound Shows No Embryo Noted And 5 Weeks Pregnant. Will It Succeed?

i went to an OB-Gyne to consult about my menstruation which started Feb 18, 2013, lumps of blood went out of me and brownish-color blood. Her findings after ultrasound is -- within a well-decidualized gestational in a yolk sac: no embryo noted and said that the pregnancy is already five weeks. Is the fetus still viable?

Hi and thanks for the query,
from the description, I am afraid the foetus is Not viable. I suggest you meet your obstetrician to discuss on post fetal loss care and your future plans with respect to conception. This shall actually depend on your plans and aspirations.
Thanks and best regards,
Luchuo, MD.
