Had Blockages In Nerves And Inability To Move Limbs. What Are The Uses Of Nervijen? Side Effects?

Hello Doctor, My Brother had blockages in nerves and he was not able to lift/move all his 4 limbs. He was hospitalized and he was given IV IG for 5 days.. Now doctor has prescribed to take Nervijen P and Pantocid. Kindly let me what are the uses of Nervijen and is there any side effects of Nervijen. He feels pain in his nerves after taking Nervigen. Kindly suggest Thanks, Prashanth

The history, symptoms of quadriplegia and the treatment all indicate the your brother has a very serious disease affecting the nervous system.
Most likely the disease is Guillain Barre syndrome but it can be due to other problems like myasthenia gravis, peripheral neuropathy, periodic hypokalemic paralysis etc. to name a few.
IV-Ig is the gold standard of treatment for GBS, although the steroids also can be tried but with less apparent benefit.
Patients show slow and variable recovery. in these disorders at times it takes long time and is only partial.
Nervigen is a combination of calcium, pantothenate and lipoic acid and is a good supotive drug although no apparent benefit is visible with this treatment.
