Hello,

Thanks for posting on HCM,

Both surgical techniques are good and either have both advantages and disadvantages and it will be unwise to prime one over the other. The choice of technique depend on the doctor who is handling you and also on your insurance coverage. Personally, I do not know which one is more expensive than the other (you could find out from a diabetic center if you have one around you).
My recommendation is that you should consider loosing weight natural through exercise and diet plan. It is going to take longer, but believe it is far better than loosing weight abruptly through surgery. Surgery to remove fat always come with lots of side effects which some can proof fatal. I suggest you take it gradually and with some determination you will loose the 50-60 lbs recommended by your doctor. If it was possible to loose more, I will suggest you do that as diabetes always complicates more with obesity.

Hope this helps

Hello,
The only surgery which can bring desired result is BARIATRIC surgery.
Liposuction doesn't result in much weightloss and is usually done to bring curves to the body and similarly plastic surgery can't bring desired results.
Discuss with your doctor about it.
Thanks
