Had A Fall From Stairs. Headache, Stuffy Nose, Slight Cough, Short Breath, Bruise On Back. Treatment?

I fell down My basement stairs last night and today I have a headache stuffy nose and a slight cough no pain when I cough but short of breath. I have a small bruise on my back where I hit my spine and I also hit my knee and I twisted around when I landed. I feel worse today than I did when it happen. I also have a little bit of tingling going up the right side of my back and down the left side of my leg.

Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
With the available described symptoms, there appears to be possibility of acute upper respiratory tract infection.
Although you have history of severe injury after fall but as such there in no correlation between headache, stuffy nose and cough with fall.
Headache may be due to stuffy nose.
You should consult with internal medicine specialist and orthopedic surgeon simultaneously and should go for thorough check up.
You should take complete antibiotic course, decongestants, cough suppressants and muscle relaxants.
You should avoid cold drinks and oily foods.
Perform gargles three times in day; a glass of lukewarm water with a pinch of salt.
Take care,
Dr. Mayank Bhargava
