Got Snug Pierced. Swelling, Pain, Redness. Taking Acetaminophen. Serious Infection?

Hello...I got my snug pierced by a professional a week a week & a half ago. Have been having swelling, pain, & redness; no discharge. Clean with saline solution twice a day, & use a hot compress at least once a day. Take acetaminophen every 6 hrs. for pain, which helps temporarily. I've also been experiencing jaw pain for the last two days. Is this a sign of serious infection?

Hi
Yes, this could be a sign of infection.
You might need to apply topical antibiotics like mupirocin for a few days.
Oral antibiotics may have to be added if the problem is severe.
Please consult a dermatoligist who will guide you with an appropriate course of antibiotic
And do take care to complete the course else incomplete therapy leads to emergence of drug resistant strains of bacteria making future treatment complicated.
Hope this brief and specific answer helps.
Let me know if you need further help.
