Gland On Right Side Of Head Swells Regularly And Becomes Tender. Why Is This Happening?

I am a female 37 years old! My question is every couple of weeks, a gland/node on my right side (occipital level) of my head, swells up and is very very tender. It last for a few days, sometimes alittle over a week. What is causing this to keep coming back? What can I do to get rid of it, or for it to stop coming back?

Hi there ~

I understand your concerns. I believe that the gland on the right side of the head is due to infection of your scalp and wonder if you have had any infected blisters or acneform lesions on your face or scalp. I hope you visit with a dermatologist to find out and get the right medications.

I hope this helps. Take care and have a lovely day!
