Given Different Blocks, Cervical Facet, Given SI Injection. Why Is It Still Painful?

I was given 5 different blocks today. One was the cervical facet. I have been looking them all up. My doctor did not inject dye in to me. I was also given an SI injection and my butt hurts a lot. I have trouble knowing if the pain has gone away because it hurts so much where I got injection. Should dr. has used dye? Is it normal for the shots to still hurt from this afternoon?n

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The pain at the site of injection is a normal finding. This pain may take 2-3 days to subside and after that the drug will show its effect. To have a short term relief till then, do a cold compress on the area to reduce the pain.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
