Getting Blood Clots In Periods, Not Flowing. What This Could Be?

I am 48 had a period on 9/27 that ended shorter than others 4 days or so. Then thought I was coming on my period on the 12th because my periods are not far apart. 15 days when stressed or every 19 days well this time I seen a show of blood in the form of a clot when going to the bathrom and then some mild bleeding , not like day 2 and 3 of heavy flow which is normal. I did not bleed my normal x7 days but I have been walking about 5days a week for exercise during my lunch. I did become very upset in between my period and stressed which could of cause me to begin sooner I took motrin and and I had clot like bleeding with a slight show and now it is very scant bleeding. this is very abnormal for me.

OBGYN 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Menstrual flow can get altered due to many causes like :
- Stress and strain leading to hormonal imbalance.
- Change in diet and exercise can lead to weight changes and hormonal imbalance.
- General conditions like anemia, thyroid hormonal abnormalities etc can lead to menstrual irregularity.
So, you once consult gynecologist and get evaluated to find out the cause for your problem.
If she recommends go for ultrasound, hormonal profile including estrogen, progesterone, LH and FSH, thyroid profile, hemoglobin etc.
By examination and investigations the cause for your problem can be identified and treated.
Try to regularize your diet and exercise schedule, this will help in regularization of the cycles.
Take care.
