Fractured Dislocation, Fitted Metal Plate. Advised To Remove It To Prevent Bone Fusion. Still Painful

I had an operation to fit a metal plate 11th june 2012. i had fallen & ended up with a fractured dislocation. i have been put in a splint & advised to take it off & do exercises but i can not do them & im now worried as the doctor said i have to or the bone will knit to the plate. it is still swollen & bruised & very painfull & uncomfortable.
