Filter Removed From Veins, Clots Had Calcified, Taking Warfrin. What Does Calcified Mean?

today my husband had a filter removed from the middle of where the viens come together. they said that his clots had cacified and that to kept taking his warfin until he seees his pcp. did not know what they meant when they said they where calicified. both legs had clots because of muliply operations about 18 total in the last year .just wanted some insight.

Hello,

Calcification means that the clots has become hardened due to the deposition of minerals like calcium on it.
This clot prevent blood to the distal parts of the body.
This carries the risk of ischemia(Lack of oxygen to the tissue) thereby producing gangrene.
