Hi;
welcome to HealthcareMagic
The high grade fever with dry cough can be a viral infection which may subside in next 3-4 days but since the baby is 2.5 yrs she is small and will require medical attention.Some times simple viral fever can further complicate in to Pneumonia also.So please get her to a Paediatrician for examination & treatment for her fever.
Take care.
Thanks
