Fell On Left Knee While Running. The Pain Subsided In Few Days. Pain Started Again While Running. Problem?
hi there. i went out running the other day and i fell over and landed on my left knee, after the fall i had quite a bit of pain on the inside of left knee, i rested it for a couple of days than went back out running for 3 days on the trot than my knee became more painfull and it feft like it was going to give way, today it feels a bit better but still a bit painfull, any ideas what it could be?
The fact that you are able to run excludes a fracture in your case.
Recurring pain in the knee following an injury could be due to * meniscal injury - swelling of the knee may be present * injury to the cruciate ligaments - Hemarthrosis occurs (blood in the knee) * strain on the collateral ligaments - swelling may be absent. pain on movement of the joint will be present
So, to diagnose all the above mentioned problems, MRI scan is essential.
Consult an orthopedic surgeon and follow his advice accordingly.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day

Elevate the limb . Rest to the injured part and do not involve in activities which puts additional strain on the injured tissues. . Ice packing should be applied for about 20 minutes once in every 2 hours. . Use elastic compression bandage around the swollen area Hope this will helps you.
