Feeling Sick After Eating. Normal Blood Sugar Levels. Any Other Tests To Be Done?
I have been feeling sick about 1 hour after eating a meal (weak and a little bit faint). Also, if I eat a lot of sugar or have alcoholic beverages before bed, I will sometimes awaken suddenly feeling out of sorts. Every time I have gone to the doctor to test my blood sugar it has been normal, also I had my blood sugar and urine tested 2 hours after drinking 2 sugary soft drinks and that test was normal as well. I am planning on going back to my doctor what kind of new test should I have done?
Nausea after eating does not have to be caused by high blood sugar level. Most likely you are suffering from acid reflux disease or other stomach problem (peptic ulcer, stomach inflammation, Helicobacter Pylori infection). Alcohol or sugar triggers stomach acid secretion what causes your problem. I suggest you to visit your doctor and get scheduled for gastroscopy. In a meanwhile please avoid fatty foods, spicy foods, alcohol, coffee, sugars. Do not eat before sleeping (last meal should be 2 hours before sleeping).
Hope this will help. Regards.
