Feeling Internal Sutures During Intercourse. Had Hysterectomy To Remove Fibroid. Should I Visit A Surgeon?
I am 58 y/o and had a robotic assisted hysterectomy on 6/7/13 due to one very large fibroid. I opted to keep my ovaries and remove my cervix. Recovery was a piece of cake and I returned to work (office administrator) in 4 wks. My husband and I waited 8wks before having relations, but he continues to feel my internal sutures where the cervix was. Will they dissolve yet or should I visit my surgeon? Thanks much!
The procedure does have its drawbacks and although in most cases such discomfort should not be experienced by the partner during intercourse, if this seems to be troubling your husband or in anyway reducing the level of satisfaction during intercourse I would recommend a visit to your surgeon yo find a solution. But if this is just something new your husband is experiencing which is not necessarily troubling, then it might take some getting used to, but can eventually be over-looked.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
