Hi,
classical signs of diabetes are increased hunger and feeding, increased thirst for water and excessive urination. Other like fatigue or recurrent infections are not rare. In your case, its interesting you did well to go for a diabetes screening. I would suggest you actually stop taking your last meal any of these days 8pm, and the next day, without taking anything bu mouth, you go for another blood glucose level. This shall be more helpful in actually telling us whether you are diabetic or not.
Changes in habits, psychological state, hyperthyroidism, environment or job intensity could alter appetite level too.
However, its reasonable to do a fasting blood glucose as I described above to either exclude or confirm whether you are diabetic or not. But for now, just wishing you the best and best regards,
Luchuo, MD

General & Family Physician Dr. Pavan Kumar Gupta's  Response
Hello,
If the sugar levels after 2 hours of a meal are between 140 to 200 mg,the condition is called as impaired glucose tolerance ( IGT ).In a non diabetic person the values after 2 hours of food should be below 140 mg %.
The condition of IGT represents an intermediate state between normal on one side and diabetes on other side. With control of weight with prudent diet and physical exercises,50% of people with IGT revert back to normal. Some remain in IGT range while others slip into clear diabetic range over a course of time.
Get your fasting levels also done and change your lifestyle.Be alert as you have all the chances in the world to develop frank diabetes. You are not diabetic at the moment but a potential diabetic of future.
Thanks
