Family History Of Diabetes And High BP. Increased Heartbeat. Bubbles In Toilet Bowl After Urinating. Diabetes?

Hi,.I'm a 24yr old male,175cm, 75kg, personal trainer, family history or diabetes and high blood pressure. My heart pounds hard sometimes, not an everyday thing but it has been going on for awhile. I just recently stopped smoking after 3years. I do workout in the gym quite often But I don't do much cardio training. Another question is, after urinating, sometimes bubbles appears in the toilet bowl, it has been going for awhile too. Could it be a symptom of diabetes?

Hello,
The signs of diabetes include increased urination, loss of weight, fatigue etc.
Appearance of bubbles in urine on some occasions is normal and doesn't indicate any diabetes.
Best way to diagnose is to get your blood sugar fasting,PP and HBA1c done.
Since your family history is positive for both diabetes and hypertension, you should be careful regarding your diet and weight.
Keep your weight in normal range of your BMI,eat healthy ( consuming more of fresh fruits and vegetables and taking less of junk foods ) and do regular exercises.
Keep a regular check of your blood pressure and blood sugar levels.
Thanks

given that history of diabetes and blood pressure, you have increased chnaces of developing them, but when that can not be predicted in advance, as both of them are multi-factorial , you weight is normal for your height,
you do gym , that helps cardiovascular fitness, but i suggest doing cardio along with your gym, atleast 3 days in a week.
Good life stlyle and healthy diet does reduce chances of you getting DM/HTN.
regarding bubbles, dont worry it does not indicate diabetes.
Diabetes is not diagnosed that way, if you want to confirm you can do fasting sugar ,PPBS and HBA1c.
your pounds, that can happen due to a extra beat or a missed beat, once in while its acceptable, but if the frequency increases or that becomes rapid pounding persisting for significant time duration , you need medical attention.
Said this if pounding is once in while , lasting for hardly one second then you should not worry.
as you have history , i suggest you do atleast yearly health examination once you turn 35.
If you want to ensure your and assess your cardiovascular fitness then you should (but not necessary at all) a stress test also called TMT/CST and see how many METS you achieve on that, and repeat yearly and keep log of METS of every year. it will help to assess increament or decrement in your fitness over a period of time.
hope this helps you

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

Bubbles appearing in bowl after urination may be due to force of urination or proteinuria. Proteinuria may be due to heavy muscular activities and UTI or may be due to diabetic nephropathy which will appear after years of diabetes. Since with diabetic family history get done FBS, PPBS and urine routine once to rule out hyperglycemia or proteinuria. If any abnormal reading get back with results then we can discuss in detail. Hope I answered your question. Feel free to ask me if you have any further queries.
Wish you good health. Take care.

Regards
Dr. Lohit

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Since there is a familial history of diabetes and hypertension, so you are also prone to these disorders.
Bubbles ( air ) in urine may be due to ketone body in urine.
So consult a Diabetologist and get in HBA 1 C with blood for sugar level both fasting and after food.
Good luck. Dr. HET
