Experiencing Pain Due To Popping Of Cyst On Right Side Of Abdomen

My partner is a 53 year old male who has had a somewhat solid 'cyst'-like mass on the right side of his abdomen. Earlier today he coughed and sneezed at the same time, experiencing a 'pop' at the site of the mass, and has been in severe pain ever since. I'd like to know what this could be.

From your description, it seemed to me like strangulated hernia. please consult general surgeon as it may complicate and can become worse.
