Experiencing Excruciating Analgesic Rebound Headaches Due To Oxycodone, Hydrocodone. Can I Discontinue Without Side Effects ?

Experiencing excruciating analgesic rebound headaches from all the Oxycodone and Hydrocodone I have been on for the past 14 months. I have qnty: 7 Oxycodone 5mg left and also have an appointment with a pain specialist tomorrow morning at 10:00am. I can NOT handle the headaches anymore! They are BRUTAL! My goal is to come off of the narcotic pain medication effective immediately with the help of these pain specialist and I'm praying that they can prescribe me medications for the withdrawals that I am certain to experience. I mean at is their specialty right? Can you guys please provide feedback, I need it badly!

Hi, you are using the medicines, since 14 months, and you are getting the pain now, it might be due to anxiety, and tension of being hurt by the medicines.
They should be stopped, by tapering the dose, and start some medicines to stop the anxiety related paims.
I to my patients prescribe alprazolam and some non narcotic pain killers, slowly introducing as the old drugs are stopped. Thank you.
