Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had excessive gas, bloating , and watery diahrea for apporx 5 weeks now. I normally have a very strong stomach and this is extremely uncommon for me. I have not changed my diet or exercise habbits. I am 36 yrs old and in relatively good health. I have gurgling in my stomach throughout the day but certainly heightened after a meal. I generally eat a very healthy diet and have no food allergies .
Hi ! I would suggest you to go for a routine stool test to exclude ova or cyst of amoeba, which is a very common infection of the gastro intestinal tract. The kind of symptoms you have comes in amebiasis, which may not be detected in routine stool test. You may discuss with your family physician if you should go for a course of anti amoebic drug or not. Another way is to see after which particular food you get such symptoms, so that you can exclude the same by repeated trials. Your gastro intestinal tract may not be tolerant to some unsuspecting food items you eat. Apart from this, you can try some probiotic drug and add fresh curd regularly to your meals which will improve your symptoms upto some extent. Wishing you an early recovery.
