Hi,
Thanks for writing in.
Unfortunately, the nature of the disease eczema is such that recurrences are common. To prevent recurrences I would suggest the following:
a.     Avoid long showers. Use lukewarm water and mild soap
b.     Apply moisturizer frequently, especially after bathing
c.     Try and avoid contact with irritants like soaps, perfumes, detergents
d.     Prefer cotton clothes
e.     Use cold compresses for itching
f.     Identify foods that cause a reaction in you. Try and avoid them
g.     Exercise, meditation, or other stress-management techniques can if stress is a trigger for you
h.     Wear gloves when you submerge your hands in water
i.     Avoid extremes of temperature and activities that make you sweat
j.     Maintain a cool temperature where you sleep.
k.     Keep your skin clean even when you don’t have itching
Hope this helps
