Earlier Had Takasubo Cardiomyopathy Attack. Family History Of Cardiomyopathy. Risk?
Hi doc , I had a takasubo cardiomyopathy attack about 18 months ago , I see my cardiologist every six months, heart is ok now back to normal size. My question is as my mother died at 58 of cardiomyopathy (rheum feveraschild) am I more predisposed of haing this condition. ,and as it is usually a one of takasubo attack could I possibly be one of the unfortunate people to have another
Hi, you had cardiomyopathy, 18 months ago, and cleared of it, and you are comfertable now. It seems there is no rheumatic heart disease, so there is no possibility of the one you are suspecting. Rheumatic heart disease is also not a notorius killer if it is attended promptly, so dont worry, you are not expected to have it. Thank you.
