Does Weight Gain, Craving For Sweets And Shivers And Dizziness Indicate Diabetes?

Hi there i have just been diagnosed with gestational diabetes but before my pregnancy i have a feeling something was wrong with my sugar as i was putting on alot of weight by craving foods and sweets and if i didnt eat in time i would start shaking and feeling dizzy and my body would feel weak. Does this sound like i could have hypoglycemia? but they have only found the problem now that i am pregnant and put it down to GD?

Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear madam I can understand your concerns
in my opinion you might be having a condition called reactive hypoglycemia but it needs to be confirmed by doing a GTT testing
during very early stage of diabetes there will be excess of insulin secreation due to excessive insulin resistence in body
this excess insulin and mis match of insulin realise and glucose absorption will give rise to condition called reactive hypoglycemia
the good news is in many patients it's reversible with weight loss
I suggest you to meet your doctor and pls undergo the test called GTT
meet a dietitian and take a diet advise which is very important for your condition
use complex carbohydrates which will realsi sugars slowly and help you to avoid hypoglycemia
daily do exercise for 45 mins.simple walking is also good
relax
regards
