Does Vigorous Exercise Before Blood Test Effect Test Results?

Hi, I had a routine blood test done (out of interest rather than any overt symptoms). I am a 41 year old male, who exercises a lot and is seldom unwell. The only major health problem has been a bout of reactive arthritis 10 years ago. It resolved fully over about a 1 year period. I did receive both oral & IV steroid treatment. My bloods show that I have a SGOT/AST of 52 U/L, while my SGPT/ALT is 46. I also tested reactive for Hep A but I assume this may be due to a prior inoculation before going travelling. My Haemoglobin was 13.6 g/dl, my polymorphs 79.9% or 4.79 (absolute), my lymphocytes 13.1% or 0.79 (absolute). total RBC count was 4.39. I had done some fairly vigorous exercise prior to the bloods (my mistake) so I am wondering if this may have had an effect on the above results? Thanks for your help.

Hi!
welcome to HCM!
Its's true. Both short and long-term physical activities alter a variety of laboratory
results, but your results are showing mild rise in liver enzymes and as you said hepatitis A test is positive if IgG is positive that means antibodies are persisting from some old infection. but if anti IgM is positive that means you have fresh infection and you need to check the enzyme levels again and see if there is a rise.
hope this helps!Take care!
