Does Varicose Veins Cause Itching & Burning Sensation On Legs?

Sir,

My mother was suffering from leg itching & burning for past 8 years. Recently after 2 visits of skin specialist I came to that she was suffering from varicose veins. Pls suggest me what are the treatment and should I continue treatment with skin specialist or should I go for neuro specialist. And should she go under operation r any treatment to cure without operations

I understand your problem and will try my best to help you out.

Kindly consult a general surgeon regarding varicose veins.
A colour doppler USG scan might be recommended to monitor the blood flow.
Based on the severity of the condition she might be advised to wear stockings or in severe cases can be suggested surgeries or sclerotheraphy and laser treatment.

In varicose veins blood is not actively pumped up to the heart due to failure of valves of the veins hence causing stasis of blood which can give rise to itching and burning sensation.
