Does Tooth Extraction Cause Yellowish Discharge From Nose?

I had 3 upper teeth pulled out about 2 weeks ago, the site has healed but I am stil having a yellowish fluid falling out of my nose, it is nasty and it smells and tastes bad. I guess maybe when he pulled them out, it messed my sinus cavity up but it will be another $1000 or so have it fixed, I don't have that kind of money, will it heal on it's on?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain discharge of yellowish fluid from the nose that has a bad smell and taste seems to be due to sinus infection secondary to extraction as due to close proximity of sinuses some amount of infection might have got into the sinuses or there is a possibility that there is slipping if any root piece into the sinus leading to infection and accumulation of infectious fluid..
As sinuses drain through nose the discharge is coming from the nose..
Consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a PNS View x-ray or MRI of sinuses can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
In case if there is infection antibiotics, painkillers, steam inhalations, saline nasal sprays, decongestant nasal sprays can help in relief..
In case if there is no improvement or there is presence of any root piece into the sinus surgical removal or drainage of the thick infected mucous or pus has to be done..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
