Does Teething Cause Sinus Drainage?

I have a five month old baby girl. The past two days she has been extremely fussy, whinny and irretrievably stressed. She is pulling at her bottom teeth. I know her symptoms are caused by teething her first tooth. Mind you she hasn't had a temp at all. Well this AM her second day she woke up with an excess amount of nasal mucous. I have used saline drops and a aspirator bulb on her twice to three times daily since she was a month old per-pediatrician orders. As today grew longer she became more nasal and snotty while chewing on anything in sight. While is is chewing on teething toys and such she screams out with aggravation. My question is ...this snotty nose, sinius drainage and enormous amounts of mucous caused from teething and trying to cut her first tooth or should I be concerned with a. Illness? Any tips on teething help???n

hello there, im oromaxillofacial diagnostician i think teething does cause the child to bite on the first thing available on site, which may cause diarhoeea, but your baby could be having a seperate episode of cold. Just check with your paediatrician if this persists.Hope this helps and thanks for the quiery.
