Does Surgical Removal Of Cervical Rib Cause Complications?

I have a pulsatile mass in my neck, which was recently diagnosed as being a post-stenotic dilatation of the subclavian artery secondary to a pair of cervical ribs (only the right side is symptomatic).

I have been advised to have the right cervical rib removed and was wondering what the recovery time of the operation is and what the possible sequalae of having it removed would be?

Thanks very much
