Hi,

Smoking by itself is unlikely to cause swollen feet, but it can aggravate other diseases which can cause swelling of feet. Smoking is bad for both kidneys and heart, any impairment in functioning of which can easily cause swelling of feet. Your varicose veins may also be implicated in poor venous return and result in oedema. Smoking can worsen varicose veins too. In my opinion, you should inform your doctor about the swelling and get some routine blood tests done that your doctor may advise.

Best wishes.
