Does Sinus Infections During Pregnancy Affect Child Health?

Hi,I am 7.5 months preganant and have recently caught too much cold and cough.My doc has advised me to take ceftum 250 antibiotic alongwith sinus 77. Is taking an antibiotic safe during this stage of pregnancy. Also, I am coughing a lot. is there any risk to my baby because of any of these factors?

Every medication taken during pregnancy has its pros and cons, but ceftum is one of the more safe antibiotics taken during pregnancy, so I do not think you should have much to worry about.

Your fetus should also be fine, so just do not stress, complete the course of antibiotics and go about your schedule. If at all, you do not experience an improvement within 48 hours of use of this antibiotic, report to your doctor as there is no point in continuing an antibiotic which is not effective.
